  1. This week we have… • Had a lovely week welcoming our new children, who have been settling in really well. We have played on the decking in our café, making and serving lots of food, writing down orders and using the till. We have picked a big basketful of tomatoes from our vegetable patch, which some children took home on Friday after lunch club. • Arts and Crafts/Cookery: we havepainted some lovely pictures, including painting our hands! We have made banana smoothie for snack. • Music and Movement: We have had lots of fun singing nursery rhymes and other action songs, such as Sleeping Bunnies and Ring A Ring O’ Roses. • Reminders • Last term we asked if the children could put a few items into a box (old shoe box or just a small bag), which show what they have been doing over the summer, for example a shell to show that they have been to the seaside. Please bring your boxes in next week. • Notices/Dates • We would really appreciate any of the following for our craft activities in the next few weeks: any spare toilet roll tubes, various widths of bamboo canes, small plastic bottles e.g. water or fruit shoot type bottles • Letter of the Week/Show and Tell – Letter of the week next week is “A,a”. For new parents: Each week we have a letter that we use with the children through the day, so for example next week we may be eating lots of apples for snack! We also encourage the children to bring in something from home to show to the other children, this could be something beginning with the week’s letter, or something which shows what they have been doing at home, or just a favourite toy (please don’t bring in anything too valuable/treasured!) • From the Committee • The next PGM (Parent Group Meeting) is on Wednesday 18th September at 7.45pm for an 8pm start. We look forward to seeing as many parents as possible to meet the committee and staff outside of the sessions and to see how the preschool runs. This Week At Allsorts04/09/2013
