    2. Current Economic Concern Project Assignment Information You have been hired as economic researchers by the US Senate to investigate current economic concerns within the economy. You are to report your findings to the US Senate. You will work in teams of 3-4. Each Team must create a team name & report it to Professor Whirl by March 25 You must select your Project by March 25, 2011 by 12:00PM Your Assignment is to do an analysis on a given topic in which the US Senate will then vote whether to support or not support the issue. The Senate is looking for insight on the pros and cons of each issue, with factual evidence of both sides.. Graphs/ Charts/ or Tables would be helpful information to the US Senate. Assignment due dates will be given later.

    3. Paper Format Paper Mechanics: 4 Pages Minimum! Not including title or work cited page. Double Space your report. 1inch margins all around. Use 12 font- Times New Roman. Follow all MLA formatting guides. Number all pages at the bottom, with group name in the header. Be especially mindful of grammar. You will lose points for these errors. A cover page should be included with your group name, group members names, project topic, date, & class section, A minimum of 4 (at least 2 for the pros and 3 for the cons) references are required, and must be cited in a "work cited page" No. Wikipedia or unofficial website maybe used. Please contact me first if you're unsure about your site. Periodicals, books, magazines, are great sources.

    4. Grades & Participation This assignment is worth 20% of your grade. To make sure all group members are active members of the group, they will be graded by their peers once they turn in their paper in. Throughout, the semester it is vital that you report to the professor any group member who is not actively engaged in the project. This person will be fired off the team and receive a zero for his/her grade.

    5. Project Presentation Presentation to Congress will be throughout the semester. Your group is to create a power point presentation, lasting no longer than 7 minutes that will brief us on the information. Your group will also give us an opinion on the topic, and answer questions from the Congress in a 3 minute time period. Please dress accordingly in business casual.

Pros and Cons Health Care Should the US generate a universal healthcare system? Pros and Cons Should the US promote the use of HMO systems as way to cut healthcare costs? Pros & Cons Should a nation like China promote a one child policy? Pros and Cons

    7. Current Research Project Topics Agriculture/ Environmental Should the US give farmers tax subsidies? Pros and Cons Should the US Gov. federally promote recycling?
