  • Analytical system was established to measure VOCs and MTBEsimultaneously without interference from water.

  • In urban areas, MTBE was highly correlated with most VOCs.

  • Using VOCs/MTBEcan quickly diagnosis VOCsemissions source.

  • MTBE can be a useful exclusive indicator of traffic emissions.
