  1. Research Group SA-2a • Partners: FORTH-ICS, KTH, SICS • Task (JPA 03): 4.2 Self-organizing Grid Services using P2P Technologies • Topic: Building Scalable Self-Organizing Grid Services using P2P Technologies • Main Responsible: K. Popov (SICS) • Scientific contents: • In the research group on self-organizing Grid services, we intend to investigate how to built large-scale distributed high-performance Grid services with self-* properties, such as self-configuring, self-organizing, self-managing, self-tuning and self-healing, with a focus on self-organization.Our approach is to use self-organizing properties of structured peer-to-peer systemsfor building Self-Organizing Grid services. We intend to find mechanisms for self-organization of large-scale grid services build on overlay peer-to-peer networks that show a potential for building large-scale systemswith autonomic management. We believe that structured P2P approach and self-organizing abilities of the P2P overlay networksallows improving scalability of Grid services and leads to improving overall efficiency of Grids. • Possible Papers: • Building Scalable Self-Organizing Grid Services using P2P Technologies • Short visits: • One from FORTH-ICS to KTH/SICS
