  1. 7/8 EE Unit Review

  2. Angle Relationships: The angles formed by the two rays along the 1st and 3rd baselines are complementary. The shortstop is represented by the black circle. The angle measure between the player at shortstop and first base is 68° and the angle measure between 3rd base and the player at shortstop is represented by 2x. Determine the value of xand the angle in degrees between 3rd base and the player at shortstop.

  3. Select two angles in the figure below and describe at least 2 ways they are related using at least two of the words below. • Complementary, Supplementary, Vertical, Adjacent, Congruent

  4. Find the measures of each angle. Be sure to show/explain how you determined the answer.

  5. Inequalities: Marshawn would like to save for an iPad mini. The price is $329. He currently has $180. He puts the following flyer on telephone poles in the neighborhood. Cutting Edge Lawn Service $20 per hour to mow, trim & edge less than an acre $30 per hour to mow, trim & edge 1 - 2 acres $5 per bag to bag trimmings or rake leaves Write an inequality for the number of hours mowing “less than an acre” lawns Marshawn needs to mow, trim and edge to be able to purchase the iPad mini.

  6. Inequalities: Marshawn would like to save for an iPad mini. The price is $329. He currently has $180. He puts the following flyer on telephone poles in the neighborhood. Cutting Edge Lawn Service $20 per hour to mow, trim & edge less than an acre $30 per hour to mow, trim & edge 1 - 2 acres $5 per bag to bag trimmings or rake leaves Marshawn has $180 and mowed 3 hours last week on lawns that are between 1-2 acres. Write an inequality showing Marshawn’s situation with purchasing his iPad mini. Graph the solution on a number line and describe the solutions.

  7. Given the equation, determine if the solution is “Always true”, “Sometimes true”, or “Never true”.  Show your work and explain why.1.  x - 3 = 3 + x          2.  10x  = x          3.   2x (15) = 30x

  8. McKala wants to buy a pair of boots.  She goes to the mall and sees that Shoe World has the boots on sale for $25 off the original price.   She is ready to purchase the boots when Jasmine informs McKala that next door at Shoe Parade the same boots are on sale for 40% off the original price.  For what original price will these discounts be equal, if ever?  Explain your reasoning.

  9. Solve the equation below.  Explain how you determined your solution. 5(x + 2) - 2 = 3x - 8x + 8

  10. Right Triangles: You have 500 small square tiles to use create figures like the one above. How many different right triangles can you create? What are the measures of the lengths of the sides of those triangles? How do you know they are right triangles?

  11. Describe the Pythagorean Theorem. What is the relationship of the measures of the sides of a right triangle?

  12. It is a great sunny day. You are 9 years old playing on the dusty 60 foot diamond (60 feet between each base with each base located at an 90º angle). The coach’s words are ringing in your ear, “know what to do if the ball comes to you”. You are playing first base. The batter hits the ball and you field it standing on first base. The runner on 2nd base is heading from 2nd to 3rd. How far do you have to throw the ball to get it from first base to third base, and throw the runner out? (Remember, round your answer to the nearest whole number.)

  13. In the coordinate plane below, which point is 13 units from point A?
