  1. Blog 3: Caisafety.com UNDERSTANDING FALL PROTECTION AND OSHA GUIDELINES Providing fall protection safety for construction workers hanging from a skyscraper or a bridge under construction, or any other hazardous built form, is imperative. One can provide safety from heighted rooftops by appropriate use of fall protection, which may include fall arrest, a protection which stops a person who is already falling. Providing guardrail systems will ensure that a worker does not enter the danger zone beyond which falling is certain. With efficient use of fall protection systems, the frequent deaths and disasters at constructions sites could be avoided. The OSHA fall protection guidelines provide the bare minimum safety requirements that are a must for sites constructing above certain heights. Keeping the floor clean and dry, avoiding slippery surfaces, collecting garbage and useless material from floor to avoid falling over are some practices that should be done on a regular basis. A major concern is the collection of construction debris and keeping it off the main circulation and working environment. This will avoid any unnecessary accident that might lead to a casualty. Also, according to the OSHA guidelines, fall protection safety is to be provided over any dangerous equipment or machinery irrespective of the height. Providing a safe working environment for the workers will ensure their safety and security, physically and psychologically. It will also keep the employer away from the danger being sued by the family of an injured worker. These protection gears are available in wide ranges by different companies since it has now become mandatory to use fall protection gears in unsafe environments.
