  1. Writing 6/7 term3 wk5 May 3rd Persuasive Essay writing outline In the past few weeks we have been practicing arguing for and against specific suggestions and ideas. This week you have been asked to select a topic of your own to argue and persuade your reader of your opinion. This lesson is meant to help you focus your writing so that you don’t allow too many ideas to take over your argument and prevent you from being convincing to your reader. This assigned written outline (this week’s homework) is not meant to be formal but should stick to the basic outline expected from a persuasive essay. There will be several websites visited on web tours today to help you understand what is expected from you this week. Participation in this class is vital to your understanding of the assignment and you will be marked on your participation and active involvement in the process.

After taking a few minutes to go over the expectations for the homework, students will be expected to use chat to share their topics, break off in partners to debate their topics, and take time to check with the teacher whether they are on track with their chosen topic. Please take the time to make notes with your partner on your slide and print them off to use during the week. Make sure that you enter your name and topic on a slide to receive credit for participating in the class this week. The more you add to your slide, the higher your mark for the class will be. Your homework assignment is out of 10 as is your participation in class.
