They will discuss IP and patents. They will provide great insight regarding these topics. They will dive into what is a patent, how is it constructed, as well as how does one receive a patent, and what does it grant you. Presenting “Intellectual Property and Patents” by Tariq Hafiz and Scott Jarrett Tariq Hafiz and Scott Jarrett Mr. Tariq Hafiz has worked at the USPTO for over 15 years. Currently, he is a Supervisory Patent Examiner. Tariq has a Electrical Engineering degree. Mr. Scott Jarrett recently joined the USPTO having worked in diverse areas including eBusiness and Information Technology, and Integrated Circuit Design. Scott has a M.S. in Computer Science from the University of Texas at Dallas and a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Texas A&M University.
