Exam 1 high elevation mortar

Exam 1: High elevation mortar

  • Filename: Demo_Mortar High QE.dat

  • One of the more normal basic ballistic tracks is the high elevation ballistic track in this case a 81mm mortar fired at high elevation.

  • Needed results:

    • Tracks parallax compensated as seen from Launcher

    • Full track slant range (seen from Launcher)

    • Impact time (seen from Launcher).

    • Impact slant range (seen from Launcher).

    • Impact tangential velocity (seen from Launcher).

    • A picture of 6 graphs representing Radial Velocity, Radial Acceleration, Slant range, X(range), Y(Height) and Z(Offset). All as seen from Launcher.

    • An ascii file containing the same information as the picture of graphs above.

Exam 2 ricochet

Exam 2: Ricochet

  • Filename: Demo_ricochet.dat

  • Once a projectile hits a target a ricochet may occur. The following demo data is recorded from a 12.7mm projectile single shot ricocheting on sand.

  • Needed results:

    • Full track range

    • Impact time, impact integrated range and impact radial velocity.

    • Ricochet starting radial velocity and ricochet integrated range

    • Tracks parallax compensated as seen from Launcher

    • A picture of 6 graphs representing Radial Velocity, Radial Acceleration, Slant range, X(range), Y(Height) and Z(Offset). All as seen from Launcher.

    • The Graphs should have a tag indicating the point of ricochet

Exam 3 extreme deceleration

Exam 3: Extreme Deceleration

  • Filename: Demo_extreme_deceleration.dat

  • For certain types of ballistic trajectories there will be phenomenon that makes the trajectory harder to process online and offline.

  • The goal is to learn the SOT/MOT processing parameters and create a valid parameters set for this type of ballistic track. Also to learn the required order of fitting to evaluate derivatives of velocity.

  • Needed results all seen from Launcher:

    • Muzzle Velocity

    • Maximum Radial Acceleration

    • Time for maximum radial acceleration

    • A picture of 4 graphs representing Radial Velocity, Radial Acceleration, Jerk and Jerk Variation.

    • An exported ascii file containing the same values as above including time since trigger.

Exam 4 multiple rockets

Exam 4: Multiple Rockets

  • Filename: Demo_multiple rockets.dat

  • Sometimes more than one track will be present in a given measurement. Following example is a multiple rocket launch.

  • The goal is to do data processing and find the correct parameters that would also work in online measurement.

  • Needed results:

    • Maximum velocity for all shots in the measurement.

    • Burnout time for all shots

    • Processed trajectory for at least one of the rockets

    • A picture of 6 graphs representing Radial Velocity, Radial Acceleration, Slant range, X(range), Y(Height) and Z(Offset). For the processed trajectory.

Exam 5 bomb drop

Exam 5: Bomb Drop

  • Filename: Demo_Bomb Drop.dat

  • More advanced measurements are the situations where the launcher is airborn. This specific situations is a bomb drop.

  • The goal is to do an analysis where we try to improve the possibility of separating the targets in the beam. Jet and bomb are off course treated as to different targets.

  • Needed results all seen from radar:

    • Flight pattern in GEO coordinates

    • Impact time, impact slant range and impact radial velocity.

    • Time, radial velocity and placement in the beam at separation

    • A picture of 6 graphs representing Tangential Velocities, Slant range, GEO ground track, Altitude, SNR and SNR as a function of Slant range.

    • The Graphs should have a tag indicating the point of separation.
