  3. Details • Orals : Part 4 and Part 2 These are the Individual Oral Presentation (IOP) and Individual Oral Commentary (IOC) They are equally weighted. Both are assessed internally, but the IOC is moderated externally • WA – Written Assignment Part 1 This is an essay response (1200 – 1500 words) to one of the works in translation • Paper 1 (preparation throughout the IB programme) This paper asks you to write a commentary on an previously unseen text. You will have a choice between a poem and a prose piece. At standard level, you are provided with guiding questions. • Paper 2 (Part 3) This is a comparative essay on the texts studied in this genre focus unit. You will need to be able to confidently discuss at least two of the texts studied.
