Making Comparisons. Saying that A is more ~ than B. A is more ~ than B. There are 3 ways you can compare two things: A は B より （ adj ) です 。 A is ~ er than B. A は B の方が ( adj ) です 。 A is ~ er than B. A より B の方（ほう）が ( adj ) です。 B is ~ er than A. Examples. オースト ラ リアは日本より大きいです。

  2. A is more ~ than B • There are 3 ways you can compare two things: • AはBより（adj)です。 A is ~er than B. • AはBの方が(adj)です。A is ~er than B. • AよりBの方（ほう）が(adj)です。 B is ~er than A.

  3. Examples • オーストラリアは日本より大きいです。 • オーストラリアは日本の方が大きいです。 • 日本よりオーストラリアの方が大きいです。

  4. Asking which is more ~ A or B? • AとBとどちらの方が～です。 • E.g.オーストラリアと日本とどちらの方が大きいですか。 • E.g.サッカーとラグビーリーグとどちらの方が面白いですか。 • E.g.日本語と中国語とどちらの方が難（むずか）しいですか。

  5. 海（うみ）と山とどちらが好きですか。 質問（しつもん）を答（こた）えて下さい。 海の方が好きです。or　山より海の方が好きです。
