  2. Raymond’s Run • Read “Raymond’s Run” pages 39-47 in the old textbook you have at home. • Complete pages 6,7,8,&9 in your All in One workbooks • DUE FRIDAY • Be prepared for a reading “Pop Quiz” on the story on Friday

  6. Discuss In your groups, you will discuss and record your ideas about the IORNY in the story. • To identify the irony, consider how readers expect the story to turn out and how it actually does. • Then, relate this irony to the story’s theme or insight into life.

Raymond’s Run Pop Quiz Write True or False for each statement: • Squeaky was the fastest runner in her class. • Squeaky is Raymond’s very protective cousin. • Cynthia shows off how hard she works which is why Squeaky looks up to her. • During the race, Raymond runs along the fence and Squeaky is so proud of him. • Gretchen is Squeaky’s best friend and is no threat to Squeaky’s race. • Sqeaky looses the race and learns that winning isn’t everything.
