  1. CLASSROOM PROCEDURESROOM 362019-2020Ms. Hanzie and Mrs. Shannon Please make sure you have read and understand all of our classroom procedures.

  2. MORNING: • When you enter the classroom in the morning you need to do the following things: • Put away books, folders, etc • Choose either buy or bringing lunch on the SmartBoard • Turn in your homework to the homework station and sign Homework BINGO • Begin working on your morning work • Turn off and turn in your cell phone to the teacher.  You will get it at the end of the day.

  3. Morning work will be on the SmartBoard.  Please read and follow the directions.   

  4. If you are tardy place your tardy slip on my desk and turn in your homework. Quickly join in with the rest of the class.

  5.  Homework is expected to be returned the next day.  If you do not return it, you will receive a (yellow) Second Chance sheet that must be signed by a parent and returned the next day with the completed homework.  You will receive full credit.  If the missing homework is not turned in the following day you will complete it at recess.  Once you have received 3 late assignments, you will no longer receive second chance sheets, and will be asked to compete the work in the reflection room.  

  6. You have an assignment notebook to help YOU stay organized.  It is your responsibility to fill in your assignments at the end of the day.  We will always go over the homework at the end of the day.  A teacher will sign each student out.  

  7. Daily classroom work will be turned into the red tray. Make sure you put your name on your work and highlight your name! 

  8. Homework, tests, and graded classroom work will be returned in a parent communication folder.  The folder must be signed and returned the following day.  You will receive dojo points. 

  9. In the blue baskets and bins there are extra supplies.  You may borrow these supplies when necessary.  Also, place all found supplies on the shelf.  If you lose a supply, check the shelf first.  Then ask those around you. 

  10. Students may move around the classroom during the following times: • Group work • Partner or silent reading • To get a Kleenex • To check out a book from the classroom library • During Daily 5/Stations

  11. Students are to be respectful when an adult/classmate is speaking to the class, during a lesson, or during a test. 

  12. All work is to be completed neatly. If work is turned in and is not neat, you may be asked to re-do the assignment.

  13. If you finish an activity early then you may: Finish your morning work. You can read a book. Work on a story in your Writing notebook.

  14. If you would like to check out a book from the classroom library you need to write your name on the card inside the book. Place the card in the purple box. Once you are finished with a book place it in the pink basket. DO NOT put the card in the book or put the book on the shelf.

  15. If you need to use the restroom be sure to ask the teacher before you leave the classroom.  There is a sign out sheet located by the door.  ALL students must sign out before they use the restroom, and then sign back in when they return.    Please ask to use the restroom before signing out.

  16. When you leave the classroom the door will close behind you. Watch your fingers! When you return knock to be let back into the room. Students will give a thumbs up to the teacher when they hear a knock. A teacher will Call on a student to open the Door.

  17. We will eat ONE HEALTHY snack one time during the day. • You may bring a water bottle ONLY to drink with your snack. • It will be a “working” snack, so whatever you are working on at the time, we expect you to continue working while you eat. • If the teachers are teaching you will wait to throw away your garbage at an appropriate time.

  18. Students are expected to raise their hands when speaking in the class, unless directed otherwise.

  19. Rule 1: Respect OthersRule 2: Do Not Interrupt your learning or the learning of other. • Clip Chart All students will start on Green- Ready to Learn You have the opportunity to clip up to silver and then blue. If you “double clip” to blue you will add a gem to your clip. 5 gems will earn a prize from the treasure chest and a “good” email home. If you are having trouble following our two rules, then you will need to clip down to yellow- warning, and finally red. Your parent will be contacted. Remember, if you clip down, you always have the opportunity to clip back up throughout the day by changing your behavior Students will mark in their assignment notebook what color they ended their day on

  20. Students are expected to enter and leave the classroom quietly, as well as walk in the hallway silently. There are several times we will be in the hallway, such as: • Lining up for lunch • Changing into/out of gym shoes • Walking to and from specials • Using the restroom (with the class or on your own) • Other errands REMEMBER showing good Bulldog Behavior in the hall can earn you bones and paws  from other teachers!

  21. Class Dojo: Mrs. Hanzie and Mrs. Shannon will be using class dojo! This is another way for you to show off awesome behavior and earn bones for the bone store! 

  22. As a table you are able to earn cones.  Cones are tallied throughout the week.  The table with the most cones at the end of each week earns a prize. 

  23. As a class, students have the opportunity to earn a class reward by earning 1,000 Dojo points.  Points may be earned by: • On-task behavior- especially during Daily 5/Stations • Following morning procedures quietly • Quiet hallway behavior • Attentive assembly behavior • Appropriate recess behavior (indoor and outdoor) • Cooperative behavior for a substitute • Compliments from other teachers/adults in the building
