  2. 2013 HIGHLIGHTS

  3. Staff Orientation Workshop

    We successfully completed the two days capacity building staff and volunteer orientation workshop that was held between 16th and 17th February 2013 at Northmead basic school and 8 staff members and volunteers attended.
  4. BCSA Girls Called for National Duties CBSA girls were called for under 17 and 20 women’s national team for a number of games including the under 17 history making game against south Africa that helped them qualify for the first ever world cup to be hosted in Costa Rica from March to 5th April. In the under 17 we had 4 and in the under 20 we only had 3. All the girls didn’t disappoint us as they lived up to everyone’s expectations.
  5. 10th German-Zambia-Japan-Australia Friendship Tournament

    This event is now an annual event and it is now getting bigger and better as Japan and Australia has join in. Theme: “The secret of my clean hand: soap and water’’ This was held on 20th March,2013 at Olympic Africa, Chipata Township, Lusaka. The one day event attracted Over 200 spectators, 40 volunteers and 8 teams drawn from Livingstone, Solwezi, and 6 teams around Lusaka, 1 u12 and 1 u17 represented us. The organizing sport NGO were BCSA, Edusportin collaboration with FAZ, National Sports Council and WASAZA. This was sponsored by GIZ. Alongside football, there were movement games, messages on Health and Hygiene , other life skills and the local artist, Dalisoul entertained the participants and general audience. Performance: CBSA won U12 and came out second after losing to Edusport at U17 level.
  6. Teulings Youth Challenge

    One of the most important events for us this was Teulings. Since 2011 the league has been running once a month with 10 boy’s teams and 8 girls’ teams. Only this year have we seen an increase in the number of girls’ teams. We were represented by 4 teams 2 from Northmead 1 for girls and also 1 for boys. The same was with Emmasdale.
  7. Football For Hope Ligie yathu

    4 sites were set as venues for our leagues, one in Ndola Twapia and in Lusaka, Garden, Emmasdale and Northmead. Over 550 boys showcased classic talent and skills during the period of the league from March to October. JWASHE health and hygiene stations were set for all the teams to undergo behavior change lessons. Every last weekend of the month in all our 3 Lusaka sites teams undergo environmental clean up.
  8. Gothia Cup

    It is of great admiration to have a girls team participate at the most the prestigious World Youth Cup from 15th to 20th July 2013 and it attracted thousands of teams around the world. Quest for a variety level of exposure among our players, we played in the girls 17 and we sent a total number of 16 young talented girls participated at the 39th Gothia Cup from. Our team was sponsored by SKF. The girls lost at the quarter final stage but the joy, the excitement, lessons and memories are still in the players’ minds.
  9. MadilitsoWits Soccer AcademyVisitCBSA in Lusaka

    Madilitsowits soccer academy visited Lusaka on the following dates 25-26 of April 2013. They travelled with 25 players, these players were for both u16 and u20. While in Lusaka they played games with BCSA amateur team from UNZA, TamangaBCSA from Emmasdale. Apparently, they lost all their games at u20 level but they managed to win one at u16 level.
  10. CBSA participate at the Children's cup in Bauleni Organized by BUSA. This has now become an annual tournament. And the games were played from Bauleni basic school. This year only Northmead represented us with the following age groups, U10 boys and girls, U12 and U14 boys and girls. The tournament started on 16thand ended on the 20thAugust.
  11. Airtel rising stars local andinternational

    Organized by Airtel and FAZ. This is an annual tournament for both boys and girls. In Zambia the finals were played at Nkoloma stadium. The tournament was played in August Winners: Lusaka but Zambia on the national level didn’t do well. The national tournament was in Nigeria and only 2 girls represented us but on the provincial level we had 4 girls.
  12. Jwasheand Event management workshop in Lusaka

    We successfully completed a two days JWASHE and Event management workshop for 30 junior sports leaders. The workshop was held between 23rd and 24th February 2013 and It was held at Northmead basic school
  13. Ndola workshop on Jwashe and Event management Venue :MWABOMENI BASIC SCHOOL, TWAPIA, NDOLA. Theme: Event Management, Health and Hygiene Organizers : Football For Hope and CBSA Partners : Madilitso Wits Soccer Academy Attendance: 22 boy and 8 girls were trained in event management and life skills such as Health and hygiene.
  14. National Community Youth Sports Initiative Organizers: National Community Youth Sports Initiative. Our Teams: Boys U17 and U20, Girls U18. Date: 12th – 16th December. Venue: Linda west and east basic schools and holy cross basic school Livingstone. Performance: Boys U17 and Girls U18 semi finals and U20 won with unbeaten record for the second time in a role.
  15. Skills camp tournaments

    Participants: 24 boys and 4 girls teams from around Lusaka. Activities: Football u10,12 and 14 and we also had health and hygiene stations set at the pitch. Venue: Gradina park school and Kampala ground Date:20th -24th December 2013
  16. Acknowledgement We pay great gratitude to all our cooperating partners and sponsors that we may not have in this years highlights but still they played a bigger role in our organisation. Special thanks to ChiparambaFoundation and Dunross, our unwavering sponsors whose efforts for over a decade have changed many young peoples’ lives. A big thank you to FIFA and Street Football world for the support towards the Football For Hope project since 2007. Thank you to One World Futball’ for the donation which will go a long way in supporting community football. We would further more thank SKF for their continued support in helping many player in meeting the world. Further, we thank GIZ , The German, Japanese and Australian embassies in Lusaka for continued partnership that has seen us host successful world water day tournament. We are cognizant of all our players’ contributions throughout the year ,their parents/guardians and indeed all CBSA staff. We look forward to another great year full of activities.
