  1. OSAP and the Strike • OSAP is being kind (!) to York students • Additional funding for additional weeks in class. Check the document tracker • If you made more money this year, you will not get blocked from OSAP next year ( more explanations later) • Your study period automatically extended until June 2nd.

  2. RAFÉO pour l’été • Extension of your fall/winter OSAP • One page application on York website • Disponible MAINTENANT • Enroll in courses first • Don’t have OSAP in fall/winter? Use the osap website application

  3. OSAP for next year • Demande disponible en mi-mai • Fill it in by June 15: pay your tuition a month late (sans intérêts!) • You don’t have to be enrolled in classes to apply • Envoyez-nous les pages de signatures!

  4. No OSAP next year? Mais POURQUOI?!!!!? • OSAP Bursaries • Bourses de York et des Amis de Glendon • Ontario Student Opportunity Grant

  5. No OSAP next year • You sure? Okay then…. • Interest free status = you make no payments, no interest accrues • Continuation of Interest Free Status Form (CIFS) – Glendon, September IF there is a delay in getting your OSAP in the fall, fill in one of these forms too!

  6. Bill drops one 6 credit course November 10th. He adds a 3 credit winter course Nov 10th No OSAP funding Nov – 10 to Jan 3 ( cause part time) Bill drops one 6 credit course Jan 4th He adds a winter course Jan 3rd Still full time, gets OSAP for both terms Timing is everything Simple fact: osap is for full time students Full time = 9 credits per term ( 6 for students with disabilities) Example September: Bill has 3 year long courses Ask us, if you are in doubt about dropping a course

  7. Honesty is the best policy • Changements à votre charge de cours • Financial changes • Status changes ( independent, divorced, married..) • Fill in Orange Change form from our office or download from MyGlendon website

  8. Overawards / Trop-versés • OSAP says they gave you too much money • 1st time, aucun problème • 2nd time – you pay back the overaward before they give you more OSAP • Due usually to income changes, course load changes • Note: that for this year only, because of the strike, a second over award will not block you from getting OSAP next year. Our advice: if the first over award is small, pay it back to keep a clean slate

  9. Academic probation • Not the same as Glendon’s academic probation • Means not successfully completing at least 18 credits; or multiple programme switches, or being in 1st year for 3 years… • Can get OSAP when on probation, but if you are not successful a second time, then you pay for school in the future, not OSAP

  10. Les embûches à éviter • Wrong answer regarding residency • Revenue pendant la période d’études • Income: what to put in, what NOT to put in. Use the green hyperlinks! • NSLSC doesn’t know you are in school full time • Programme code (Glendon’s not York’s!) • OSOG (do your taxes!)
