Why change packaging? • Problem: • Current WDS packaging of “One Size Fits All” does not reflect the real price per value • We are penalizing customers with unnecessary features. • Large bundles don’t allow us to: • Understand our business. • Don’t know what is important to customers and therefore we don’t know where to invest. This is a win-win for the customer and IBM. • Solution: • Choices for languages and tools • Desktop tools that require a smaller footprint and are easier to use • Tools that Encourages modernization • User focused suite of products • Protect the investment of customers using older technologies • Create a new set of tools and compilers with optional features
