  2. It’s a girl!!! Coretta had two siblings named Edythe and Obi. Her parents name are Obadiah and Bernice. She was the second child. Coretta was born in Marion, Alabama, 1927 on April 27.

  3. Coretta went to Antioch college in Ohio. She was one of the first African American to go to that college She got a scholarship.

  4. Coretta went to a music industry after college. It’s in New England. It is called the Conservatory of Music in Boston, Massachusetts.

  5. Coretta met Martin Luther King Jr. in Montgomery, Alabama. She worked by his side. Martin was a pastor before he was a civil rights leader.

  6. She never knew she would marry a civil rights leader. Later on in their life , they got married. They had four children named Yolanda, Martin III, Dexter , and Bernice.

  7. James Earl Ray killed Martin Luther king. Martin was in Memphis. James was arrested.

  8. She was called the mother of civil rights After Martin’s death, Coretta became the civil rights leader. She was a proud leader.

  9. She earned awards for helping poor people. Through out her life, Coretta earned awards. She was named women of the year.

  10. Another was for poor people. Coretta has more speeches than you could name. One of her speeches was at Harvard university.

  11. Later, she died. She was age 78 and died on January 14, 2006. Coretta had very serious heart problems.
