  1. Writer’s WorkshopGrade 8Collecting I OBJ: To think about how you will portray the characters through the mode of writing that you have chosen and analyze how writers have done this by collecting information. CCCS: W.8.3, W8.4, W8.5, W.8.10, SL8.1

  2. When we last met: You had to choose a mode that best fit your memoir.

  3. Purpose • Need to make your story engaging to your readers. • Gather and collect information so your character’s appearances and personalities are clearly shown. • This will be done based on your choice of mode for your memoir.

  4. Mode: Epistolary Novel List 4 traits: witty, can be devilish, wicked sense of humor, a spit fire when angry photographs, interviews Me (your name) describe yourself: height, weight, facial features, body type, etc. Tall and trim, muscular, short hair, some facial hair, large ears and nose, wide eyes can be portrayed through use of dialogue. Use of sense of humor/wit ,being sarcastic through use of description.

  5. You need to… Complete “Cast of Characters” in its entirety. • Making first character “you” • Name others in your story and complete the chart **By now… the “Litmus Test” worksheet (from Selection 1) should be completed for 1 memory and the “Choosing a Mode for your Memoir” worksheet (from Selection 2)**
