Why do you think they developed where they are? • Harappa & MohenjoDaro • Developed in the Indus River Valley because there it can support life, Water for drinking, fishing, transportation, and irrigation for farming and Fertile soil for farming.

  9. 11. What Separates India from the rest of Asia? • The Himalayas Mountain Range and the Hindu-Kush Mountain Range separates and isolates India from the rest of Asia.

  10. 12. Why do you think the Khyber Pass and the Bolan Pass were important to the early civilization in India? • The Khyber Pass and Bolan Pass are low lying Valleys in the mountain range which allowed the early settlers to pass through and settle in the Indus River Valley.

  11. 13. Look at the location of the Ganges River. Why do you think the Ganges River is so important in India? • The Ganges River Valley is a fertile alluvial plain and makes it a perfect place for a civilization to prosper.
