What are Zero Day Vulnerabilities

Zero-day vulnerabilities, often referred to as simply "zero-days," are security weaknesses or software flaws that are unknown to the software vendor or developer. These vulnerabilities are called "zero-day" because there are zero days of protection for users once they are discovered. In other words, the vulnerability is exploited by attackers on the same day it becomes known or even before the software vendor becomes aware of it.
