Croatian Employers’ Association- History • Founded in the first half of 1993. • Since 1993, member of the International Organization of Employers (IOE -Geneva) • Since 1994, takes part in the activities of the International Labor Organization (ILO – Geneva) • Since 1999, observer member of the Confederation of European Business (BUSINESSEUROPE, Brussels). The status was changed to associate membership in 2004, when Croatia became the candidate for the membership in the EU. • Memeberofvarious EU Associations at sectoral level.

CEA - ASSOCIATION OF EDUCATION • - the newest association within CEA, established in 2011. • Actively participate in the establishment of the Croatian Qualifications Framework (based on the European Qualification Framework, the law is to be adopted). • Main aim: Strategic development of the educational system for a Competitive Economy • New strategy of education has been in the process of adoption- public debate going on now

CEA- ASSOCIATION OF EDUCATION • Strategic guidelines for the development of the educational system for a Competitive Economy (or 25-points development plan for the period 2012-2015) • Contains recommendations for: • A) Compliance with the economic policies • B) Financing, Taxes and Efficiency • C) Quality Assurance • D) Employability, content and structure of the qualification • E) Science and Research • F) Entrepreneurship and Employment

Employers participate in VET: Sectors Councils • Sector 1: Agriculture, food and veterinary • Sector 2: Forestry and wood processing • Sector 3: Geology, mining, oil and chemical industries • Sector 4: Textile and Leather • Sector 5: Graphics technology and audio-visual design • Sector 6: Mechanical Engineering, Shipbuilding and Metallurgy • Sector 7: Electro-technology and information technology • Sector 8: Construction and Geodesy • Sector 9: Economy, trade and business administration • Sector 10: Tourism and hospitality • Sector 11: Transport and logistics • Sector 12: Health and Social Care • Sector 13: Security services, personal and other services • There are 13 sector councils for each of the sectors as tripartite bodies that represent a link between labour market and education. • Members are: • Employers (CEA) • Chambers, • Trade unions • Professional associations • Universities • VET schools and institutions • relevant Ministries • Agency for VET and adult education
