Introduction • Hendrix High is devoted to the needs 0f the student who does not fit the model of the traditional high school student. • Our school is an alternate setting for students with emotional/behavioral disorders, school avoidance issues, and other social problems. • The staff of Hendrix High is committed to assisting students to fulfill the needs of the high school diploma program.

  3. Success is Within Reach • Hendrix High has a graduation rate over 90% • Lower teacher to student ratio ensures individualized instruction • Goals are set to meet student achievement in the core areas of study: math, sciences, ELA, and history/social studies.

  4. Scenarios Scanning • Hendrix High has a scenario for success for the year 2017. • New technology and a new classroom experience are forecast for the future. • Our scenario is based on four stages: • Defining scope • Database construction • Building scenarios • Choosing strategic options (Meitzner & Reger, 2005) • We will continue to gather data that ensures Hendrix High stays competitive and promotes student achievement.

  5. Hendrix High • We are committed as educators to instruction with the latest technology available including: • Video Gaming • Web Design • Use of Mobile Devices • “Semantics”- a deeper way of understanding • We believe that the quality of the question breeds quality answers.

  6. Hendrix High • Starting this year, we will institute a radical new program. • Saturday School • Meeting from 10 A.M.-Noon every Saturday with a rotating schedule for math, sciences, history, and ELA. • Providing for the needs of our students now to ensure a successful future.

  7. Staff Development • Our staff is committed to bringing students the latest technological advances. • Training at technological workshops is ongoing and teachers are learning advancements in web design, gaming techniques, and tablet computing that instill learning and new research practices.

  8. Community Involvement • Hendrix High is committed to keeping the community involved in our mission for success. • Now offering positions for senior citizens as: • Tutors • Hall Monitors • Mentors • Join us in making a student’s future brighter.

  9. Vision for 2017 • Expansion of the sciences: a new science lab with the latest in technology and “Design Education.” • Additional courses added to the curriculum such as: • Art Classes (Theater, Sculpting, Drawing) • Auto shop • Computer Sciences • New opportunities for growth are on the way.

  10. Vision for 2017 • Additional programs to meet the challenges for tomorrow: • Social Skills Training • Parent/Teacher/Student Conferencing • Preparatory Course for Post-Secondary Life • Graduation is not the end; it is the beginning.
