  8. Seeking the Word First • Matthew 6:33 – But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. • Set aside time each day to get into the Word of God, preferably first thing if possible because it sets the course to walk in the Spirit the rest of the day! Have a plan, if it’s reading a Proverb each day or Psalm, set a goal to achieve, but at the same time be sensitive to the Holy Spirit and where He’s leading you.

  9. Seeking the Word First • Psalm 119:11 – Your word I have hidden in my heart, that I might not sin against You. • Scripture memory is essential to walking with God. The Holy Spirit uses the Word of God to speak to us and through us. It’s the Word of God that sets humanity free. If the enemy can keep a believer from hiding the Word in their heart he’s got a upper hand in warfare. Hosea 4:6 tells us God’s people perish for a lack of knowledge.

  10. Seeking the Word First • Joshua 1:8 – This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. • Take a scripture with you each day and keep it in your heart and let it resonate. Ask the Holy Spirit to open the eyes of your understanding and bring revelation.

  11. Seeking the Word First • Ephesians 6:18 – praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints— • Taking authority of the powers of darkness daily, declaring the Word of God so the Holy Spirit can illuminate your path. Be aware of God’s Spirit within and what He wants to say to you or others. Praying over family, friends, or situations as the Spirit of God leads you.

  12. Seeking the Word First • Praise and Worship • Thanksgiving and gratitude to the Lord for the things He has done. Recap and assess your day. Did you grow? What areas could you improve in? Repent and move forward and press on to the mark of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. Redeem the time!
