  1. Trigonometry Unit 5

  2. What does it mean? • Trigonometry (from Greektrigōnon "triangle" + metron "measure"1) is a branch of mathematics that studies triangles and the relationships between their sides and the angles between these sides. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trigonometry

  3. What will you do? • Special Right Triangles • Trigonometric Ratios • Law of Sines • Law of Cosines • Area of a triangle using trigonometry

  4. What?

  5. Use Pythagorean Theorem Or Use shortcuts to solve 45-45-90 and 30-60-90 a2 + b2 = c2 Special Right Triangles

  6. Trigonometric Ratios Used to solve right triangles. SOH – CAH – TOA

  7. Law of Sines Used to solve triangles that aren’t special or right.

  8. Also used when the triangles aren’t special or right. Law of Cosines

  9. That’s it! See it wasn’t that bad. You’ll get it. You just need to practice your formulas. (and get Triggywit’ it)
