  6. Solution • P.A.T • Personal Auto Tracker • A tracking device that can be used on a cell phone to track your vehicle in real time in the event of a theft. CS410 Blue Team

  7. How it works • Uses GPS technology to remotely track your vehicle in real time through a transmitter hidden in the vehicle. • P.A.T software tracks your vehicle and provides important information such as • Vehicle speed • Direction • Provides police non-emergency numbers depending on the location of the vehicle • In the event of a system failure, P.A.T can use radio frequency tracking as a backup to GPS CS410 Blue Team

  8. Market • Auto Owners • Specifically: Those who do not have full coverage insurance. CS410 Blue Team

  9. Compitition • Onstar – Stolen Vehicle Assistance • Found on select GM vehicles • Uses GPS to track vehicles remotely • Can then shutdown vehicles engine to thwart the thief • $20-$30/month fee Source – onstar.com CS410 Blue Team

  10. Compitition cont. • LoJack • Uses radio frequency technology to track the vehicle • Claims a 90% recovery rate • “Most” police have receivers to track the vehicle and recover it • ~3 mile limit • $695-$995 Source – lojack.com CS410 Blue Team

  11. Why P.A.T? • Combines the best of both worlds • Aftermarket product • Real time remote tracking not limited by distance • Provides the owner with a means to track the vehicle as well as police • Peace of mind • Cost effective • ~$200-$300 one time fee CS410 Blue Team

  12. Potential Downfalls • Compitition • Onstar and Lojack have been around for awhile and are strong competitors • Both have a solid client base P.A.T Vs. Vs. CS410 Blue Team

  13. Conclusion • While P.A.T isn’t a new idea, it solves the short falls of other tracking services in a way that is cost effective and reliable. • By letting the owner track his/her vehicle as well as police, the owner isn’t left at home guessing if the police are making progress toward recovery. • Can lead to the recovery of that one car or truck that holds that special place in your heart.
