Trials & Sentencing9(a) - Fahim Ahmad • Jun 2, 2006 - AHMAD was arrested during the major takedown • Represented by attorney Dennis Edney • Nov 7, 2007 – Nearly a year after his arrest, AHMAD still maintains his innocence and was “still waiting for the government to produce a shred of credible evidence” • Apr 12, 2010 – Trial begins for AHMAD who is tried with both CHAND and ANSARI, all of whom plead not guilty in the Ontario Superior Court • Judge: Fletcher Dawson / Crown Prosecutors: Iona Jaffe & Sarah Shaikh • May 10, 2010 – AHMAD changes his plea to guilty to importing firearms, participating in a terrorist group and instructing others to carry out activities for a terrorist group • Oct 25, 2010 - AHMAD sentenced to 16 years (double credit given for time served)

Trials & Sentencing9(b) - Amin Mohamed Durrani • Jun 2, 2006 - DURRANI was arrested during the major takedown • Represented by attorney Manuel Azevedo • Aug 15, 2006 – DURRANI denied bail • Dec 18, 2008 – DURRANI's no-bail decision upheld • Jan 20, 2010 – DURRANI pleads guilty to participating in a terrorist group • Judge: Bruce Durno / Crown Prosecutors: Sarah Shaikh • Jan 20, 2010 - DURRANI sentenced to 7.5 years (double credit given for time served), release from Maplehurst Correctional Complex on Jan 21, 2010 • Additional terms include 3 years probation, a lifetime weapons and explosives prohibition, a requirement to submit DNA and no contact with other conspirators

Trials & Sentencing9(c) - Jahmaal James • Jun 2, 2006 – JAMES was arrested during the major takedown • Represented by attorney Donald McCleod • Feb 26, 2010 – JAMES pleads guilty to participating in a terrorist group • Admitted to travelling to Pakistan for paramilitary training • Judge: Bruce Durno / Crown Prosecutors: Jason Wakely • Feb 27, 2010 - JAMES sentenced to 7 years (double credit given for time served), and released Feb 28, 2010 • Additional terms include 3 years probation, a lifetime weapons prohibition, and a requirement to submit DNA

Trials & Sentencing9(d) - Steven Vikash Chand • Jun 2, 2006 - AHMAD was arrested during the major takedown • Represented by attorney Michael Moon • Apr 12, 2010 – Trial begins for CHAND who is tried with both AHMAD and ANSARI, all of whom plead not guilty in the Ontario Superior Court • Judge: Fletcher Dawson / Crown Prosecutos: Iona Jaffe & Sarah Shaikh • CHAND maintains that he did no wrongdoing, stating that he did not know the true purpose of the training camp • Jun 23, 2010 – CHAND found guilty of participating in a terrorist group and counselling to commit fraud over $5000 • Nov 26, 2010 - CHAND sentenced to 10 years (double credit given for time served), remaining time of 7 months, 10 days plus 3 years probation, a lifetime weapons prohibition and a requirement to submit DNA

Trials & Sentencing9(e) - Mohammed Ali Dirie • Aug 13, 2005 – DIRIE arrested at the Peace Bridge border with MOHAMED for possessing and importing firearms • Oct 24, 2005 – DIRIE pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 2 years in addition to time served for possessing a prohibited firearm with readily available ammunition and importing a firearm • Jun 2, 2006 - DIRIE was re-arrested while serving sentence at Collins Bay Penitentiary • Represented by attorney David Mercury • Sep 23, 2009 – DIRIE pleads guilty to participating in a terrorist group • Judge: Bruce Durno • Oct 2, 2009 – DIRIE sentenced to 7 years (double credit given for time served), leaving 2 years remaining in sentence

Trials & Sentencing9(f) – Yasin Abdi Mohamed • Aug 13, 2005 – MOHAMED arrested at the Peace Bridge border with DIRIE for possessing and importing firearms • Oct 24, 2005 – MOHAMED pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 2 years in addition to time served for possessing a prohibited firearm with readily available ammunition and importing a firearm • Jun 2, 2006 – MOHAMED was re-arrested while serving sentence • Dec 2007 – MOHAMED granted bail • Apr 15, 2008 – Crown asks for charges for participating in a terrorist group to be stayed

Trials & Sentencing9(h) – Shareef Abdelhaleem • Jun 2, 2006 - ABDELHALEEM was arrested during the major takedown • Represented by attorney William Naylor • Judge: Fletcher Dawson / Crown Prosecutors: Iona Jaffe • Jan 21, 2010 – ABDELHALEEM found guilty of participating in a terrorist group and intending to cause an explosion • Defense was awarded a stay of proceedings as ABDELHALEEM claimed a case of entrapment • Jan 25, 2010 through Feb 1, 2010 - Entrapment hearing • Feb 26, 2010 – Judge found that ABDELHALEEM was not entrapped • Nov 22, 2010 – Sentencing hearing begins • Mar 4, 2011 – ABDELHALEEM sentenced to life, final member of Toronto 18 to be sentenced

Trials & Sentencing9(i) – Saad Gaya • Jun 2, 2006 - GAYA was arrested during the major takedown • Represented by attorney Paul Slansky • Oct 28, 2009 – GAYA pleads guilty to knowingly participating in a terrorist group and intending to cause an explosion for the benefit of a terrorist group • Judge: Bruce Durno / Crown Prosecutors: Beverly Wilton • Jan 18, 2010 – GAYA sentenced to 12 years, given 7.5 years credit for time served, and serving remaining 4.5 years at Maplehurst Correctional Complex • Dec 17, 2010 – Crown appeals 12-year sentence • GAYA'S sentence is increased to 18 years

Trials & Sentencing9(j) – Saad Khalid • Jun 2, 2006 - KHALID was arrested during the major takedown • Represented by attorney Russell Silverstein • Jul 17, 2006 – KHALID denied bail, placed in solitary confinement • May 4, 2009 – KHALID pleads guilty to intending to cause an explosion that was likely to cause serious bodily harm or death; first member to plead guilty • Judge: Bruce Durno / Crown Prosecutors: Beverly Wilton • Jan 18, 2010 – KHALID sentenced to 14 years, given 7 years credit for time served • Dec 17, 2010 – Crown appeals 14-year sentence • KHALID'S sentence is increased to 20 years on the same day that GAYA's is increased to 18 years and AMARA'S appeal is denied

Trials & Sentencing9(l) – Qayyum Abdul Jamal • Jun 2, 2006 - JAMAL was arrested during the major takedown • Represented by attorney Anser Farooq • Sep 25, 2007 – JAMAL denied bail • Nov 5, 2007 – Charges of intending to cause an explosion were dropped, JAMAL released on $100,000 bail but required to stay in house-arrest • Apr 15, 2008 – Crown asks for charges for participating in a terrorist group to be stayed • Peace bond applied rules against applying for a passport, imposing an 8pm curfew and no contact with other conspirators

Trials & Sentencing9(o) – Nishanthan Yogakrishnan • Jun 3, 2006 - YOGAKRISHNA was arrested during the major takedown • Identity protected as a young offender , turning 18 on Jan 12, 2006 • Represented by attorney Mitchell Chernovsky and Faisal Mirza • Mar 25, 2008 – Trial begins for YOGAKRISHNA, pleads not guilty, identified as NY • Sep 28, 2008 – YOGAKRISHNA found guilty of participating in a terrorist group • Stands as the first conviction under Canada's Anti-Terrorism Act • May 22, 2009 – YOGAKRISHNA sentenced to 2.5 years (already served) • Sep 9, 2009 – The ban protecting YOGAKRISHNAN'S identity was lifted

Trials & Sentencing9(s) – Syed Harris Ahmed • Mar 23, 2006 – AHMED indicted by the Northern District of Georgia for providing material to support a terrorist group, based on videos taken of major US political landmarks • Jul 19, 2006 – AHMED and SADEQUEE identified as co-conspirators in Toronto plots and indicted for conspiring to provide material support to terrorists and conspiring to provide support to a designated foreign terrorist organization, Lashkar-e-Taiba • Dec 2008 – Reindicted again for conspiring to provide material support to terrorists, and trying to join Lashkar-e-Taiba based on videos found on Aabid KHAN'S computer (convicted UK terrorist) • Jun 11, 2009 – AHMED found guilty • Dec 14, 2009 – AHMED sentenced to 14 years

Trials & Sentencing9(t) – Ehsanul Sadequee • Mar 23, 2006 – Warrant issued for SADEQUEE'S arrested for providing material to support a terrorist group, based on videos taken of major US political landmarks on the same day AHMED is indicted. • SADEQUEE was residing in Bangladesh at this time • Apr 17, 2006 – SADEQUEE captured by authorities in Bangladesh • Apr 20-22, 2006 – SADEQUEE is arrested by the FBI and placed in a prison in New York for false statements about Mar 2005 trip to Toronto • Jul 19, 2006 – AHMED and SADEQUEE identified as co-conspirators in Toronto 18 • Dec 2008 – Reindicted again for conspiring to provide material support to terrorists • Aug 12, 2009 – SADEQUEE found guilty on all 4 counts • Dec 14, 2009 – SADEQUEE sentenced to 17 years
