  1. Bullet proof glass also known as bullet resistant glass as the name suggests is a glass that doesn’t let the bullet to pass through it. A bullet proof glass might look identical to an ordinary pane of glass but that is where the similarities end! An ordinary glass shatters when struck by a single bullet whereas a bullet proof glass can withstand several rounds of bullets depending upon the thickness of the glass. Now the question arises how come a bullet proof glass is resistant to bullets and other projectiles? A bullet proof glass is made by layering a polycarbonate material between the ordinary glass pieces and this process is called lamination. In this process a glass like material is being created which is thicker than an ordinary glass. When a bullet is fired at a sheet of bullet proof glass it pierces the outer glass layer but then gets absorbed by the layer created by using polycarbonate glass material and hence stops it before reaching the final inner layer.

  2. Bullet proof glasses can be two way as well as one way type. In case of two-way bullet proof glasses the bullets fired from both the sides i.e. inside and outside gets absorbed in the polycarbonate glass material layer whereas in case of one-way bullet proof glass the bullet fired from outside gets absorbed but when fired from inside it pierces out. One-way bullet proof glasses are generally used in armored vehicles. Usually bullet proof glasses are used for safety and security reasons of banks, schools, hospitals, government buildings, police stations, jewelry stores as well as convenience stores. These glasses are also used for protecting cars and transportation units.

  3. CONCLUSION BulletShield when installed to the existing window glasses it creates a protective layer i.e. the glass acts as a bullet proof glass.
