  1. Four Less Obvious Reasons to Rent Workwear Uniforms Alsco is a company that is built on uniform rentals. In fact, we were the first U.S. company to offer uniform rentals when we started way back in the late 1800s. We know a thing or two about this industry, including the many reasons our customers choose to rent uniforms rather than purchasing them. So where does your company stand? Are you renting workwear uniforms or buying them? And if you are buying, who actually pays for the uniforms: you or your workers? We invite you to take an honest look at your workwear uniforms from every angle. Your current uniform program could be in need of an upgrade. To prove the point, below are some less obvious reasons to rent workwear uniforms compliments of the Hays Police Department in Kansas. The department budgeted more than $46,000 to upgrade officer uniforms in 2018. 1. Uniforms Aren’t Uniform One of the biggest reasons the HPD decided to invest in new uniforms is the fact that their current uniforms are not really uniform. Unfortunately, the pants they’ve been buying since the 1950s are no longer available. They have been forced to settle for similar garments that don’t necessarily match in terms of color and fabric. This is unacceptable. Renting workwear uniforms guarantees uniformity across your entire workforce. Colors will match, fabrics will match and cuts will be identical. Plus, there’s no having to worry about replenishing uniform stock when suppliers change what they supply. 2. Uniforms Aren’t Comfortable Next, HPD officers have been complaining over the years that their uniforms are just not comfortable. Their utility belts are outdated and not suitable for modern use, causing back and hip strain for officers. As for the fabrics, they are hot and not very breathable. None of this is good for officers. It is not good for your workers either.

  2. As a workwear uniform supplier, we are always on the lookout for the best possible uniforms for workers in the industries we serve. We put a lot of time and effort into finding uniforms that are both comfortable and functional. We want our clients and their workers to be comfortable every hour they are on the job. 3. Uniforms Aren’t Durable The HPD has come to realize that their uniforms have become less durable over the years. There could be any number of reasons for this. However, at the top of the list tends to be manufacturer quality. As that quality goes down, durability suffers. This is something you don’t have to worry about with rented workwear uniforms from Alsco. To begin with, we do not skimp on uniform quality. We believe in giving our clients the best. But above and beyond quality, we also handle all laundering and repairs. If a uniform wears out, we replace it. We don’t expect our customers to hand their workers shabby-looking uniforms. 4. Uniforms Aren’t Professional Similar to the durability issue, the HPD realized that their uniforms no longer looked professional by modern standards. It’s just not appropriate for police officers in the 21st century to wear pink-tan pants that clash with dark navy shirts. Fortunately for our customers, we pay as much attention to a professional look as we do to durability and functionality. We believe that uniform rental is the better way to go for most companies. Rented uniforms offer a professional look, more than adequate functionality and appropriate protection regardless of the environment a person works in. Best of all, renting uniforms is cheaper than owning and maintaining your own uniforms.
