GENETICALLY ENGINEERED FOOD • Genetically engineered foods usually have traits/characteristics of the item that its seeds were mixed with. • For example, if I buy an apple that is the size of a strawberry and remains that size permenantly chances are this fruit’s seeds were genetically engineered with the seeds of a strawberry so as a result the apple has traits of both

  3. BIOTECHNOLOGY IN FOOD • Biotechnology provides powerful tools for the sustainable development of agriculture, fisheries, and forestry as well as food industry. • Sectors are working on improving seeds through advanced breeding and biotechnology

  4. Purple Tomatoes • These tomatoes are examples of a genetically engineered food. They seem to have been genetically engineered with plums. • As you see they are plum shaped with a plum purple color instead of its usual orangey-red color but when you cut it open,it looks exactly like a tomato

  5. How are we effected as humans? • Biotechnology can be both beneficial and threatening to the lives of humans. • GM foods can cause serious health issues for someone that might b allergic to something genetically engineered. • Moreover biotechnology can also help cure world hunger.
