  2. Restoration Sites 11 sites had been stocked at the beginning of 2004 ~ 3,657 BTMs released 8 new sites were stock during 2004 ~ Overall 4,613 BTMs released

  3. Summary of Stocking Efforts • 19 sites stocked • 17 landowners have participated • 8,270 BTMs released • 2 site on public property • Reproduction documented at 3 new sites • Clayborne • Vervilla • Collier

  4. Duck River Watershed • Lewis Creek Population BTMs were used for stocking • Two sites targeted • Collier Site • Reproduction documented Fall 04 • Marcum Isolated Pool

  5. Collier Site AFTER BEFORE 50 BTMs were stock in 04

  6. Marcum Isolated Pool • 121 BTMs were stocked in 04

  7. Hickory Creek Sites • Type Local BTMs were used for stocking • Two new sites were discovered during 04 • Both owned by same landowner (Ramsey) • Barn Site (617 BTMs) and Lower Field Site (330 BTMs) • One required manipulation (Barn Site) • Sediment removal • Livestock exclusion fencing • One problem with both sites………. GAMBUSIA

  8. Barren Fork Sites • Lewis Creek Population BTMs were used for stocking • Three sites were targeted • Green Brook Park Spring (Smithville Site) • Blue Springs on Dry Creek (Herndon Site) • Bridges Site on Mud Creek

  9. Green Brook Park Spring • Owned by the city of Smithville • Large amount of flow from multiple spring heads • No Gambusia present • 354 BTMs stocked

  10. Herndon Site (Blue Springs) • Large amount of flow from multiple spring heads • Small number of Gambusia present • Livestock exclusion fence installed • 280 BTMs stocked

  11. Bridges Site (Mud Creek) • Small spring head • No Gambusia present • Livestock exclusion fence installed • 22 BTMs released

  12. Other Potential Sites in the Barren Fork Watershed • Cooper Site • Popular Creek and Duke Creek • No Gambusia present • Some manipulation required • Livestock fencing • Sediment removal at spring head

  13. Elk River Sites • Ponds Springs Population was used for stocking (Bradley Creek, a direct tributary to the Elk River) • 12 sites were targeted for BTM release • Agreements are in place for two sites and both were stocked during 04 • Gibson Site on Rose Creek • Faris Spring site

  14. Gibson Site • Spring fed creek • No Gambusia present • 181 BTMs were released Nov 04

  15. Faris Spring Site • No manipulation required • No Gambusia present • 200 BTMs were released in Nov 04
