They are #1…other person #2 • #1s-Write on back of card: three examples of being Responsible-Share with partner • #2s-Write on your card: three examples of being Respectful-Share with your partner

  5. A little about class… • Materials: • 1. Pen (blue or black)/Pencil • 2. Notebook paper • 3. Three-Ring Binder w/ 5 dividers • 4. NMH Daily Planner *required* • 5. Highlighter • 6. Crayons/Colored Pencils • 7. Glue Stick

  6. Notebooks (Label Dividers) • Resources • Journal/Notes • Class work/Homework • Projects & Papers • Tests/Quizzes *Bring your notebook to class everyday! *Notebooks will be checked periodically as a class work grade.

  7. Be Responsible • Be in your seat when the tardy bell rings. • Be prepared for class with your materials every day. • Restroom • If Absent • Late Work • Incomplete work • Nameless/Unlabeled Work

  8. Grading Policy • Weighted Grades: • Tests, Projects & Papers – 50 % • Class work, Quizzes - 40% • Homework – 10% • *All work turned in must be fully completed!

  9. Be Respectful • Give your full attention to the class lesson • Stay in your seat unless otherwise directed • Use appropriate volume, tone and language • Cell Phones/Electronic Devices (IPods, MP3s, Cameras, Etc.) • Plagiarism/Cheating

  10. Your Assignment! • Syllabus • Return signed syllabus • Culture Assignment • Fill a paper bag with items that represent your life and personality • You will be asked to share your bag with the class • Due: Wednesday, 8/25/10
