2. Chimera • Chimera has a head of a lion. • The tail of a dragon. • The body of a goat. • He can also breath fire. • It is almost impossible to slay Chimera.

3. Cerberus • Cerberus is a dog with three heads. • Cerberus has a dragon tail. • He guards the entrance to the underworld. • Cerberus lets anyone into the underworld but not out.

4. Medusa • Medusa was a mortal women until she was turned into a dragon like monster. • Medusa face was so hideous and horrible If anyone looked at Medusa they would turn into stone.

5. Hydra • The hydra had nine heads and poisonous breath. • The Hydra lived in swamps and ate cattle and crops. • The Hydra was very hard to slay. • If any of the Hydras heads were cut off two would grow back in its place.

6. Hecatoncheires • The Hecatoncheires had 50 heads and 100 arms. • The Hecatoncheires was crated by Cronus. • The Hecatoncheires were to hideous for there father Cronus.

7. MINOTAUR • The Minotaur had the body of a man and the head of a bull. • A king hired men to build a maze to trap the minotaur. • The minotaur could never escape. • The king fed him human victims. • Theseus was a Greek hero who killed the minotaur.

8. SCYLLA AND CHARIBDIS • Scylla and Charibdis are two sea monsters who lived on opposite sides of a narrow channel. • Scylla had six necks and 12 feet. • Charibdis lived on the opposite side of Scylla. • Charibdis was a giant whirlpool who sucked in and out waters of the sea.

9. The sirens • The sirens were sea goddesses who had a head of a women and the body of a bird. • They were the daughters of Phorcys, Sea god. • They could lure sailors in by signing a beautiful song . • As soon as the sailors reached the island they would reveal themselves as horrible monsters and eat the sailors.

10. Circe • Circe was a sorceress who lived on the island of Aeaea. • She used her potions to turn people in to hideous creatures. • Although the people looked like monsters, they still had their human brains so they were always aware of their horrible fate.

11. Pandora’s Box • Pandora was created by Zeus’s request. • According to the Greeks Pandora was the first woman on earth. • Pandora was given a box that she was told to never open the box. • Pandora was curious what was in the box, she opened the box. • Out flew plagues, sorrows and evils.

12. Geryon • Hercules, as a punishment for a misdeed, was ordered to be a servant of his cousin. • Eurythes Hercules cousin thought of 12 dangerous tasks for him. • One of Hercules task were to capture the oxen of the monster called Geryon, who walked on two legs and had three heads. • Hercules was able to kill Geryon and his two headed dog that guarded the oxen and Hercules returned safely with the oxen.

13. Harpies • The harpies were creatures that possessed the wings, bodies, beaks and claws of birds and the heads of a women. • They could fly as fast as the wind, and their feathers were as strong as armor. • The harpies were known to capture mortals and take them to the underworld. • They were also known to leave a disgusting smell.
