  4. National Chemistry Week! Joan… • Santa Ana Zoo, Sunday Oct.15, 11am-3 pm.  • Hands-on activities, making the polymers: Gluep and Ooobleck.  • Joined by Asim Ansari and a team of 12 student volunteers.  Our Science Club is also assisting with the posters.  • Includes other area colleges… A chemistry magic show as well.  • All ages are invited to attend this special event. 

  5. Schlinger Seminar Series Begins Lenny… Our first speaker is scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 30 at noon. Rick Vetter -- from UCR -- will talk about the Brown Recluse Spider!

Space Utilization and NS • Space utilization is a hot topic on this campus due to FTES… • 421 Issues • Classroom List – Please see Handout! • Computer Lab 901A can be booked in the afternoon, and 901B can be reserved anytime. Rooms 317, 511, 315, and 720 are open labs now. Janet is looking into finding more rooms that can be reserved.

  10. Faculty Senate News Ken… • Senate Issues… • The TEC has a variety of software including Adobe Pro. The TEC hours are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. • The Senates have been working on the Academic Freedom Policy for the last three years. • This policy still does not include any type of due process. This policy needs a due process clause to prevent faculty members from being caught up in the unlawful discrimination policy. • It was requested that Senate members take this proposed policy back to their faculty for input.
