BENJAMIN ATHLETICS • Benjamin Athletic Facts • 38 US Boys and Girls Athletic Teams • Approximately 600 student-athletes • US Facilities • Gymnasium, Track, 2 Multipurpose Fields, Softball Field, Baseball Field, 9 tennis courts • Off Campus: NPB Pool, Jupiter Lanes, Golf Courses and Nicklaus Fields @ PBSC • 80+ Upper School Boys and Girls Coaches • About half teachers in school and remainder come from community • Seek to hire most qualified coaches available • Athletic Director meets with coaches prior to , during and after seasons

BENJAMIN ATHLETICS • Benjamin Athletic Facts • 6th - 12th Grade Member of the Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA) • Governing body for high school and some middle school athletic programs in Florida • Coaches and athletic department are members of FACA (Florida Athletic Coaches Association), FIAAA (Florida Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association), NFHS (National Federation of High Schools) and NIAAA (National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association) • Football program is member of SFC (Southeastern Football Conference) • Championship game Saturday at FAU Stadium • Upper School Student-Athlete/Parent Handbook online under athletic portion of web site

BENJAMIN ATHLETICS • US Athletic Achievements • FHSAA Athletic Program of the Year (8) • FHSAA Sportsmanship Award (2 times last 3 years) • One of 25 schools in entire state • 12 Team State Championships • 27 Individual State Champions • 47 Regional Championships • 170 District Championships • Gold Medal Winner (Ryan Berube – Swimming) • 23 All-Americans • Professional Athletes: WNBA, NFL, WPT Tennis Tour and PGA Golf Tour • 26 Student-Athletes from the classes of 2009-2012 participating in collegiate athletics

BENJAMIN ATHLETICS • Marketing/PR/Admissions • 2009-2010 Summary – Benjamin athletic teams were in various newspapers and on TV 197 times • According to Rebecca Selig ‘93 (PR Firm) value of this is approximately $800k with potential to be seen 28 million people • Chris Nordland working with athletic department to nominate our student-athletes, teams and coaches for all awards that we qualify • FHSAA Recruiting Rules and Regulations • First contact must be with admissions • Attempting to expose our school and athletic programs to as many people as possible • Parents and student-athletes are our greatest resource • Common Theme must be that our teams/programs are successful and we do place student-athletes in college!!!

BENJAMIN ATHLETICS • What is new in Benjamin Athletics? • Facilities Upgrades • Track was refurbished over the summer and final painting was completed this past summer • New pole vault and high jump pits for track & field • Tennis courts were refurbished this past summer along with all new nets • Batters eye was added to baseball field last summer • New wind screens for baseball and tennis • New fencing for softball field • Gym floor refurbished every summer

BENJAMIN ATHLETICS • What is new in Benjamin Athletics? • Pool/Support Facility • Project Team led by Ray Graziotto • Main competition pool, “learn to swim”/warm-up pool, dive well, deck space, support facilities (locker rooms, press box, public restrooms, visitor locker rooms, concession stand, multipurpose room and coaches room) • Most independent schools similar have aquatics center • Field house • Depending upon design can be used for wide variety of activities (fine arts, meetings, conferences, dances, community events, tournaments, etc.) • 3 additional volleyball/basketball courts • Fitness Center/Strength and Conditioning Center

BENJAMIN ATHLETICS • What can parents and BPA do to help? • Speak well about the school and athletic program in the community • Any inquiries about school must make contact with admissions first per FHSAA policy • Questions about team – Student-athlete should speak with coach first, followed by parent meeting with coach, followed by meeting with athletic director • Open door policy in athletic department • Positive and supportive behavior at athletic events • Support coaching staff and all members of teams

  12. BENJAMIN ATHLETICS • 2013 and 2014 Collegiate Athletic Commitments • 13 student-athletes currently committed with at least 6 still undecided • NCAA early period signing period for 5 student-athletes tomorrow in gym Jacksonville University Yale University Rutgers University
