  1. Types of Boiler Heating

  2. A boiler is the heating tool used to create hot water or steam for hydronic baseboard, radiant heat or steam radiator heating systems.

  3. Types of Boiler Heating Combi or Combination Boiler Heating Combi boilers provide heating and hot water directly from the boiler. Combiboilers provide maximum pressure through only one tap at a time.

  4. Regular or Conventional Boiler Regularboilers heat your central heating system directly and produce hot water for your cylinder.

  5. System Boiler A system boiler can provide central heating and hot water from a cylinder if required.

  6. Back Boilers Back boilers can be fuelled by gas, oil or solid fuel. All require a lined, natural-draught open flue to expel the potentially harmful gases.

  7. Condensing Boilers A condensing boiler uses modern technology to maximize the fuel efficiency of either a conventional or combination system. It is known as a condensing boiler because the water from these flue gases 'condenses' in the secondary heat exchanger and drains away at the bottom of the boiler.

  8. Storage Tanks Boilers with a storage tank (hot water cylinder) are better capable of coping with the demands of multiple use and can deliver water at a high temperature and at a high flow rate. Unvented tanks allow main pressure water delivery, rather than relying on gravity as traditional open vented systems do.
