  1. Boilers for Home Heating

  2. When choosing a boiler for your home, it is important to know which kind you need.

  3. Types of Boilers • Combi • System • Conventional

  4. Other Types of Boilers • Condensing boilers • Energy efficient boilers

  5. Combi Boilers • Provides heat and hot water without water tanks or cylinders. • Two kinds - gas or electric combi boiler. • Get unlimited heat and hot water.

  6. Combi Boilers • Need little space • Might reduce water pressure if hot water is needed for more than one tap at a time. • Installation is tricky.

  7. System Boilers • Also known as sealed system. • Come with a water cylinder and no water tank. • Can get hot water from multiple taps at the same time. • Hot water can run out, have to wait for it to reheat.

  8. Conventional Boilers • Also known as open vent or regular boilers. • Have both a cylinder and a tank. • Can get hot water from multiple taps at the same time.

  9. Conventional Boilers • Have simple controls and tends to be more reliable as less can go wrong. • Hot water can run out and you'll have to wait for it to reheat.

  10. Condensing Boilers • Aren't strictly a boiler type. • Are energy efficient. • Captures heat which would escape from the flue of a non-condensing boiler and reuses it.

  11. Energy-Efficient Boilers • All boilers are energy-efficient since 2010. • All boilers are assessed and given a rating.
