  2. Introduction to the VCS-150 What is the VCS-150 • 150 port voice conferencing matrix switch • Provides connections of phones,cryptos,radios,speakers and recorders. • Allows up to 28 users in conference • Provides easy to use windows driven user interface for Voice conferencing functions

  3. Items to be covered • Log on to the VCS-150 application • Setting up a conference • Conferencing rules • Adding members to an existing conference • Removing members from a conference • Removing a conference • Outages • Logging off the VCS-150

  4. VCS-150 System Components • Master switch unit (MSU) one per system • Auxiliary switch unit (ASU) up to four additional per system • VSM-30 VF switch module • PS-32 power supply • AIU-2VF module • PC for system control processor

  5. System Hardware Architecture

  6. User Workstation Hardware • 500 Mhz Pentium processor or greater • 64 MB EDO RAM or greater • 2.1 GB EIDE Hard Drive or greater • 12.1 Inch SVGA Active Matrix Color Display • Smart Backup Battery • 6X or greater Internal CD ROM • 56K modem • Windows NT/2000 Operating System

  7. MSU Shelf Configuration

  8. Starting the VCS-150 Application Click on the VCS-150 icon

  9. VCS-150 Main Menu Click the “Login/logout” selection

  10. Logon menu is then displayed

  11. Logon Procedure Cont. • User ID -- Minimum of 6, max. of 24 characters. • Password -- Minimum of 6, max. of 24 characters.

  12. Successful logon,Function buttons may be shaded out depending on your security level.

  13. System Security • Three levels of security provided • You will be assigned a level by your administrator • Your level will provide you access to certain functions but not to others

  14. This example shows a user with only Database access

  15. Setting up A Conference

  16. Select the “SwitchOperations” function

  17. Conferencing Rules • No more than 28 ports in one conference • Only one trunk per conference • Phones,speakers and recorders may be added or removed at any time.

  18. Available ports are then displayed

  19. Select The ports for the conference by clicking on them once

  20. Right click on one port Select the “Connect Conference” option

  21. The Conference is now set up

  22. Add participants to the conference

  23. Adding a new participant to the conference

  24. Select “Recorder2”

  25. Select the “connect Item to Conference” function

  26. Recorder2 has now been added to the conference If correct click on the “OK” button

  27. Removing participants from a conference

  28. Place the mouse pointer over the port to be removed. In this case Recorder2. Right click, and select “ disconnect item from conference.

  29. Recorder2 has now been removed

  30. Handling outages Click on the “Reporting“ button

  31. A List of active Outages and restored will be displayed. OUTAGE

  32. After acknowledge if any are still active and have not been cleared For additional information double click on the outage

  33. The outage is defined along with a step by step corrective action

  34. Remove the entire conference

  35. Place the mouse pointer over any port in the conference,right click and select “Disconnect Conference”

  36. The Conference has been removed

  37. This concludes the Operations portion of the training

  38. System Administrator training

  42. Select the MSU or ASU of interest In this example we will use the MSU Click on any portion of the MSU shelf

  43. Add,Edit, and Delete port information

  44. The configuration of the MSU is displayed To Add a port click on one of the empty slots 9 is used here

  45. Add Port 9 to the Database

  46. Enter a port ID up to 24 characters

  47. Enter Phone number if this port is going to be a phone

  48. Select port function in this case a Phone

  49. Select the security class if this device is a crypto only

  50. Select port type Red would apply here
