  1. Rural Point-to-Point Business Multi-Unit Residential Metro Breeding Wireless Highways in Palestine Hani Alami –CEO Coolnet Cost-effective, Secure, Reliable Wireless Connectivity

  2. Figures from Palestine • 27000 Square KM • 472 Villages & 13 cities • 460K Houses ( Average 1K Per village) • 180K Internet Connections over ADSL • Geographical: Mountains and Hills

  3. Out taking Monopoly • Palestinian service provision market was monopolized for a period of over 15 years. • Cupper cabling infrastructure. • As monopoly is, the client is the least of importance, people had to wait over 90 days for a landline application to get into field action.

  4. ROI Studies • FTTH Network – Fail • FTTH With the Electricity Company - Fail • New landline operator Fail • Cable Network Fail • Wireless Broadband gave the answer • CAPEX • OPEX

  5. CAPEX leverage • Short Deployment period • Low deployment cost between small village's • Wider foot print in shorter Timeframe • Cheaper CPE’s – No subsidizing needed • Scaled Bandwidth Upon Network need • Higher efficiency to reach any client • Microwave offers a much better cost-per-bit ratio than fiber without compromising on availability or reliability.

  6. OPEX Leverage • Much easier to maintain • Less forces and tools • Shorter Time to Deliver • Operators might leverage existing facilities to generate more revenues • Higher SLA by using the 1+1 Topology • Equipment can be disassembled and relocated somewhere else

  7. Our Comprehensive Solution Short Haul Long Haul Access Aggregation Trunk Small Rings inside City and short links to the clients Wide rings between Districts PtP/PtMP Network Management System E Band Links and OFDM SDH & IP links City Hotspot WiFi

  8. Microwave vs. Fiber

  9. Our Network Diagram

  10. Delivered Services with 99.99% Highly Congested line with 30Mbps

  11. More Delivered Services with 99.99% Highly Congested line with 100Mbps

  12. Delivered Services for BSA ISP Highly Congested line with 400Mbps

  13. Road Map………….. • Connecting Corporate businesses with P2P • Connecting BSA ISP’s with E band • Connecting small WISP’s P2P • Connecting SME’s with MPTP • Building Hotspot WIFI network for Residential users

  14. Deployment Concept….. Simplicity wins • Small cells with short poles • Layer3 network with MPLS between sites • Controlled DC system running all the sites

  15. Why Wifi ……… • Low cost per BST • High Bandwidth – up to 58Mbps/ Sector • Low CPE Price • Almost in every smart Phone and PC

  16. The Change • Coolnet effectively participated in the ICT industry in 2009. • The plan was to envelop the West Bank of Palestine with one wireless network identity. • Provision of high end fully tailored corporate services. • Coolnet initial team was 4 personnel, that worked day and night in shifts to secure sales, installations and after sales support.

  17. WiFi City Coverage • Covering the Cities with Adaptive Beam Forming WIFI g/n

  18. WiFi City Coverage…………. • P2P links from the main site feeding small sites with WIFI base stations • High capacity connections – up to 100Mbps per link • WIFI Beamforming Outdoor Base station with extended Coverage • Provides PtP performance with simple installation • No alignment needed • Automatic link establishment • Self backhaul links utilizes the same 2.4GHz frequency

  19. The Transformation

  20. Something is missing… • Coolnet in order to further infiltrate, had to take leaps of faith, we successfully participated in our first tendering project valued at 250,000 USD for the Palestinian civil police VPN network. • Not only did we win the grant of project implementation, it was as well an excellent reference for our prospects. • Post this project Coolnet was able by then to acknowledge new expansions.

  21. Coolnet Road Map • Adding More cells • Increasing speeds • Wider Foot Print

  22. Closing • There are difficulties in entering an idea such as wireless networking into a market. IF it worked in Palestine it definitely can be tuned to work any where else in the world! Thank you!
