  2. Bienvenus au Cours de Français! Bienvenus! In this course, you will be learning about the French language and culture through a variety of activities and resources. Through these activities, you will learn the skills necessary to live and survive in any French-speaking country.

  3. Required Readings • Textbook: - C’est à toi (Levels 1, 2, and 3) - Discovering French (Bleu) Other requirements: • French – English Dictionary • A mini French story book of your choice

  4. CLASS SUPPLY LIST • French – English Dictionary • A three-ringed or pocket folder • BLACK OR BLUE INK PENS • Pencils • See supply list for additional items

  5. CLASS RULES • Come to class on time and prepared to learn • Be in your assigned seat before the tardy bell rings • Raise your hand and wait to be acknowledged before speaking • DO NOT get out of your seat without permission • Respect the teacher, yourself and others • Do not go to my desk without permission • Electronic gadgets may be used in class only if these enhance the instructional process. Teacher approval must be obtained prior to use of any electronic gadgets. • No eating, drinking or chewing gum in class • The bell does NOT dismiss you. I DO

  6. Tardy Policy TARDIES WILL NOT BE TOLERATED!!!!!!! If you arrive in class after the tardy bell, you MUST bring a pass from the administration or a signed note from your previous teacher.

  7. Class Work • Complete all class work and take notes • Participate • Do homework • Keep up with your notes • Take tests

  8. Make – up Policy It is the students’ responsibility to ask for make – up work after returning from any absence. Make – up work is due the following day after it has been given. Make – up tests will be given before school ( 7:45 am to 8:15 am) and after school ( 3:45pm to 4:00pm) Or during the school day if possible.

  9. Grading Policy • All assigned work will be graded and recorded. • Tests, quizzes and projects will be graded as follows: • Daily grades 25%; • Homework 15%; • Test, essays, projects 35%, • 9-weeks Test 25% Grading scale • 100-90 = A • 89-80 = B • 79-70 = C • 69-65 = D • 64 and below = unsuccessful

  10. Cheating and Plagiarism • There is a zero tolerance policy for cheating and plagiarism. Any students found cheating or plagiarizing will be given a ZERO for that assignment, and may be subject to further disciplinary action.

  11. Hall Procedures • Walk in a straight line • Walk behind the person in front of you • No talking in the halls • Keep all hands, feet and other body parts to yourself • Do not yell nor shout into another teacher’s room

  12. Class Dismissal • The bell does not dismiss you, The Teacher does!!! • The bell does not signal the end of class, it simply tells the time • Continue working until the teacher dismisses class • In this class, dismissal is done by columns as the teacher desires.

  13. Welcome to French I Language learning requires commitment on your part. Bring your laptop, notebook/binder, and writing materials to class daily. I have very high expectations for all my students and I am looking forward to a wonderful school year 2013/2014. BONNE CHANCE ET BON COURAGE!!!!
