  3. CTE: Career and Technical Education • Practice sports medicine specific Skills in an athletic training environment • Workplace Readiness completer exam • Sports medicine completer exam • BLS Health care provider CPR/AED exam • Skills USA

  4. Application of skills • Responsible for a sport at reno High school • Practical Athletic training room experience • Improve skills to make you employable at a local healthcare facility

  5. Evaluation: • Your grade is based on your participation and application of skills to include: • Taping skills • Injury evaluation • Documentation • Management and care of the athletic training facility • Completion of required hours of practical experience • Wpr and sports medicine completer exams

  6. Lab Fees $25 Lab Fee (Checks made out to “Reno High school” ) • Covers the cost of lab supplies used during the course • Covers 1st Aid/CPR/Aed card received after Certification training

  7. Program requirements: • Maintain a 3.0 ( b ) average in the program coursework • Pass the workplace readiness and Sports medicine completer tests given in the spring of Sports Medicine 2

  8. CLASSROOM EXPECTATIONS: • Students are expected to be on time to class. • Communicate to team members and instructor • Students will actively and constructively participate in and contribute to class discussions and activities. • Respect for the learning environment

  9. Students will be checked out a fanny pack by semester and must have them at every practice/game worked • No fanny pack=mark down in grade • Fanny packs will be returned on date informed by instructor • Loss/damage to fanny pack will result in fine and reduction of grade • Loss of fanny pack- $50 fine • Fanny pack-$30, Scissors-$5, pen light-$5, remainder contents- $10 • Student Signature__________________ • Parent Signature___________________
