  2. Purpose • Students will learn how to develop and maintain healthy relationships with friends, family, and females. The session will also teach students how to be a gentleman, and how to treat others.

  3. Agenda • Ice Breaker (5 minutes) • Communication Activity/Discussion (25 minutes) • Chivalry Discussion (25 minutes) • Announcements/Reminder (5 minutes)

  4. Relationships • What do you have to do in order to have a healthy relationship woth others?

  5. Communication • What does having effective communication look like?

  6. Communication Activity • Each of you will be given a slip of paper that has a different communication style on it. • Your task is to act out this communication style, without telling others what it is. • You all will get in groups of 4 and communicate with each other.

  7. Chivalry What is chivalry?

  8. Chivalry • What do chivalrous acts look like?

  9. Chivalry Activity • On the index card provided, I need you write down one behavior that they would consider chivalrous.

  10. Chivalry Discussion • How many people are holding a card they consider to be chivalrous? • How many people are holding a card they consider not to be chivalrous?

  11. Chivalry Discussion • Chivalry seems to run along gender (male/female) lines, with males doing things for females. What do you think about this aspect of chivalry? • Should chivalry go both ways? If so, why? • Do you think chivalry is dead? Why or why not?

  12. Being a Gentleman • How can I be chivalrous while at school?
