1. The Business Migration Branch

2. Long Term Business Visa (LTBV) – A three-year work visa to provide sufficient time to move to New Zealand and commence your business prior to applying for New Zealand residence. Entrepreneur (Residence) – After running your business for two years you may be eligible to apply for New Zealand residence as an entrepreneur. Migrant Investment Policy – A New Zealand residence policy for business people who are looking to reside and invest in New Zealand. Employer Accreditation – New Zealand employers can apply to gain accreditation to offer employment to overseas workers. Residence from Work – If an employee has been working in New Zealand for at least two years for an accredited employer, they can apply under our Residence from Work Category.

3. Migrant Investment Policy Replaces the Active Investor Migrant Policy. Objective: “….to attract financial capital to local firms or government by providing residence to those who wish to make a significant contribution to New Zealand’s economy”. Two options for investors: Investor Plus (Investor 1 Category) Investor (Investor 2 Category).

4. Migrant Investment Policy Investor Plus (Investor 1 Category) High value investors investing a minimum of NZ$10 million. Standard health & character requirements. Rules for source of funds and investment vehicles that can be chosen. No cap on number of applications. Similar to the Global Investor Category but lower amount and time for investment.

5. Migrant Investment Policy Investor (Investor 2 Category) Lower-level investors: minimum of NZ$1.5 million. Standard health & character requirements. Points-based system for selection. Longer period of investment. Limited to 300 application per year. Like General (Active) Investor, but more attractive.
