The Lisbon Declaration: Zoom on one recommendations • A.2 Use the Multiannual Financial Framework budget and its key instruments to create longer-term investment and strategic support for social innovation across all Commission services. • Actively support EU countries to use European Social Fund plus (ESF+) for social innovation. • To identify emerging and unmet needs • To experiment with next-generation policies, services and solutions • To facilitate policy learning, upscaling and transfer • To strengthen society’s capacity to act • To deliver the European Pillar of Social Rights Social Innovation Community (SIC)

The Lisbon Declaration Today: SIPA is born ! • Social Innovation Policy Alliance stands for: • Social purpose at the heart of innovation activity and policy in Europe • Innovation directed towards problems that really matter to people and the planet • Innovation pursued in a way that promotes social justice, democratic engagement, inclusion and resilience • Founding Members of the coalition • Nesta Italia, Nesta UK, AEIDL and REVES • Our goals • Make sure social and environmental concerns are high on the agenda in discussions on innovation at EU level and within member countries • Advocate for policies to support social innovation, and the values of the social innovation movement, as set out in the Social Innovation Declaration • Promote a better understanding of social innovation among policy makers and those implementing public policies in Europe Social Innovation Community (SIC)
