  2. The ministry of agriculture and cooperatives has a draft of five-year Agriculture Development Plan which aims at 3% rate of growth per annum in the agricultural sector and arise in the farmers’ happiness index to 80% by 2016 Agriculture Development Plan (2012-2016)

  3. There are four priority areas: Raise the quality of life to farmers. Development of agricultural productivity and balancing between food and bio-fuel. Sustainable and efficient use of agricultural resource and infrastructure. Increase efficiency of management of agriculture and cooperatives

Thailand Institute of Scientific and Technological Research (TISTR) Established as a non-profit state enterprise on 25th May 1963 To implement special science and technology policies of the Royal Thai government, under the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST). The Agricultural Technology Department (ATD)the activities focus on the integrated research and development, technology transfer and incubation projects on the production of new economic plants, herbal plants, vegetables, fruits, organic fertilizers, bio-fertilizers, and environment-friendly protective agents and pesticides.

  9. Various topics of R&D under ATD’s include value adding of agriculture industry wastes, life time extension of agriculture crops with post-harvest technology, as well as consultancy and Training services concerning agricultural technology.

  10. Lam Takhong Research Station (LTS) is an important site responsible for agricultural experiments. Acting as a Knowledge resource centre in agricultural Technology, LTS plays a key role in supporting R&D and technology transfer in agriculture of TISTR
