  1. Welcome to Bible Study Greetings Song On Christ The Solid Rock All To Jesus I Surrender Opening Prayer

  2. The Reason for Everything Romans 11:36 For from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be the glory forever! Amen.

  3. Glory(from the Latin gloria, "fame, renown") Denotes the manifestation of God's presence in the Judeo-Christian religious tradition. God's glory is often associated with visible displays of light, e.g. thunderbolts, fire, brightness.

  4. Divine Glory(a dominant theme or central idea) Throughout Judeo-Christian theology, God is regarded as the most glorious being. Human beings are created in the image of God can participate in divine glory as image-bearers. Like a mirror, the human person reflects God's glory, though imperfectly. (Thus Christians are instructed to "let your light shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven." Matthew 5:16)

  5. Reflecting God’s Glory Everything created by God reflects his glory in some way. We see it everywhere, from the smallest microscopic form of life to the vast Milky Way, from sunsets and stars to storms and seasons.

  6. Psalm 19:1 “The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands.” In nature we learn that God is powerful, that he enjoys variety, loves beauty, is organized, and is wise and creative.

  7. God’s Glory in Jesus Christ • God’s glory is best seen in Jesus Christ. He, the Light of the world, illuminates God’s nature. • Hebrews 1:3 “The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven.”

  8. Agree or disagree? In the entire universe, only two of God’s creations fail to bring glory to Him: fallen angels (demons) and us (people). Sin, at its root, is failing to give God glory.

  9. Romans 3:23-24 23For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of the glory of God. 24Yet God, with undeserved kindness, declares that we are righteous. He did this through Christ Jesus when he freed us from the penalty for our sins.

  10. How can I bring glory to God? • The birds bring glory to God by flying, chirping, nesting, etc. • The ant brings glory to God by being ants. • Saint Augustine (354-430 AD) “The glory of God is for human beings to please God, not men.”

  11. We bring God glory by worshipping him “God wants our worship to be motivated by love, thanksgiving, and delight, not duty.” Rick Warren

  12. Glory to God in Worship

  13. John Wesley on Worship Above all sing spiritually. Have an eye to God in every word you sing. Aim at pleasing Him more than yourself, or any other creature. In order to do this attend strictly to the sense of what you sing, and see that your heart is not carried away with the sound, but offered to God continually; so shall your singing be such as the Lord will approve here, and reward you when he cometh in the clouds of heaven.

  14. Romans 6:13 • NIV - Do not offer the parts of your body to sin, as instruments of wickedness, but rather offer yourselves to God, as those who have been brought from death to life; and offer the parts of your body to him as instruments of righteousness. • KJV - Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.

  15. We bring God glory by loving others • We learn to love as God does. • John 13:34-35 “34 “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. 35 By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”

  16. We bring God glory by becoming like Christ • Spiritual maturity is becoming like Jesus in the way we think, feel, and act. • 2 Corinthians 3:18 “And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord's glory, are being transformed into his likeness with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.” • God gives you a new life and a new nature when you accepts Christ.

  17. We bring God glory by serving others with our gifts. • God gave you abilities to benefit others. • 1 Peter 4:10 “Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms.”

  18. Things God won't ask • 1. God won't ask what kind of car you drove.     He'll ask how many people you drove who didn't have transportation. • 2. God won't ask what your job title was.     He'll ask if you performed your job to the best of your ability. • 3. God won't ask how many friends you had.     He'll ask how many people to whom you were a friend. • 4. God won't ask in what neighborhood you lived. He'll ask how you treated your neighbors.

  19. We bring God Glory by telling others about Him • Who are you going to live for – yourself or God? • God will give you what you need if you will just make the choice to live for Him. • John 1:12 “Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.”

  20. First, believe God loves you and made you for His purposes. • Second, receive Jesus into your life as your Lord and Savior. Receive His forgiveness for sins. Receive His Spirit for power. • Pray: “Jesus, I believe in you and I receive you.”

  21. Thinking About My Purpose • Point to Ponder: It’s all for Him. • Verse to Remember: Romans 11:36 “For from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be the glory forever! Amen.” • Question to Consider: Where in my daily routine can I become more aware of God’s glory?
