  16. Concept– It looks like a spirograph, sounds like a scat jazz song, smells like copper, tastes like menthol, and feels like loose sand. Despite the surreal aspects of the show, I wanted to create fairly realistic locations through the lighting. To accomplish this, I utilize gobos and various colors – focusing mainly on the cyclorama lights. For night-time scenes, I decided to use starry sky gobos. In the foreground, jungle-leaf gobos are in the designs to be used, obviously for the jungle scenes. Instead of using gobos with word cut-outs, I believe having signs would work just as well. While depicting the inside of Nicky’s Paradise, there is a background image on my design – this is only because the image of a flamingo in the background is something I would definitely want as a lit-up sign.
