Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan • APEGS regulates the practice of engineering and geosciences for the protection of the public • APEGS has approximately 6500 members • 200 members volunteer to serve on various boards and committees • K-12 Committee established to promote and encourage math, science, technology, and engineering education in the schools

K-12 Committee Activities • Provide financial support for Science Fairs, Sci-Fi and EYES science camps, Innovators in the Schools program, ASSIST conference • Online Student Design Showcase (formerly the Straw Bridge Competition) • Volunteer database for Student Outreach • ‘Building Your Future’ Poster Series

Goal of the posters is to encourage K-12 Students to consider careers in engineering & geosciences Posters will be distributed to all Saskatchewan Elementary Schools and High Schools (March, 2009) Lesson Plans are being developed, and will be printed on the back of each poster Project Overview

  6. 10 posters will be developed Two (2) posters for Grades K-3 Caption: ‘Laying the Foundation’ Two (2) posters for Grades 4-6 Caption: ‘Exploring the Possibilities’ Two (2) posters for Grades 7-9 Caption: ‘Work in Progress’ Four (4) posters for Grades 10-12 Caption: ‘Getting It Done’ Media Release and Project Celebration during Engineering and Geoscience Week (March 1 – 7, 2009) Poster Development
