  1. Catch the Reading Bug! Monaview Elementary Summer Reading Program 2008

  2. Reading Requirements to catch the bug... • K & 1st: Read to, Read With or Read Independently a minimum of 20 books. • 2nd & 3rd: Read a minimum of 20 books. • 4th and 5th: Read at least 4 Chapter books OR 30 Picture Books.

  3. Attention: • Reading logs must be signed by parents and returned during Meet The Teacher Night, August 15th. • Students who complete the requirements for their upcoming grade level, will receive a special surprise on Meet the Teacher Night!

  4. Monaview Library • The Monaview Library will be open on Tuesdays during the months of June and July(except the week of July 4th) from 10:00-2:00 to check out books or to sit and read. • Parents will need to stay with their children at all times. • Also, remember the Greenville County Public Library is a great place to check out lots of fabulous books!

  5. Monaview volunteers will be hosting storytime for all students (every hour) beginning at 10:00am until 2:00pm for the month of July only. Storytime

  6. Summer Reading List- see next slides We look forward to reading with you this summer!  **Means we have these books at Monaview Elementary! Students may read other appropriate books that are not on the list as well.
