  1. The project has been fulfilled by the second-year students Yegorkina Julia and Solontsova Lubov “Competitiveness of the business in public service as an example of “Zhakkard” Ltd.

  2. The subject of the study: Analyzing the financial and economic activity and the ways of rising the competitiveness in public service

  3. The tasks to be solved: • Comparative analysis of the similar businesses • Analyzing the financial and economic activity of “Zhakkard” Ltd. • Creation of mini-programs for increasing the service competitiveness of “Zhakkard” Ltd.

  4. Introduction: Public service in our life is becoming one of the most prospective and developing brunches of economy. It covers a wide scope of activity from trade and transportation of goods to financing, insurance and being intermediaries. In Russia we can say this activity leaves behind production of goods proceeded from its rate of growth and revealing new types of services, and also from its time-serving features. During the last two decades public service has been the most dynamic and developing field of economy.

  5. Salon “Zhakkard” Hairdressing salon “Zhakkard” was organized in 1999 as a business with limited liabilities. The address of the salon: Domodedovo city, 8 Talalykhina street. It occupies the territory of 100 square meters on the first-floor of a five-storey building. The monthly income of the salon comes to 157864 rubles. Because of many problems related to the activity of the salon we decided to carry out the marketing of this brunch of service.

Having compared salon “Zhakkard” with general competitors we came to conclusion that the salon has more disadvantages than advantages Advantages Disadvantages -closeness to home;-no receptionist; -price level; - low level of service; -personal communication- no discounts and bones; with masters. - no available professional cosmetic for sale; -no salon advertisement.

  8. Competitiveness Competitiveness is a comparative concept of the ability and performance of a firm, sub-sector or country to sell and supply goods and/or services in a given market. Although widely used in economics and business management National competitiveness is said to be particularly important for small open economies, which rely on trade, and typically foreign direct investment, to provide the scale necessary for productivity increases to drive increases in living standards. Competitiveness is important for any economy that must rely on international trade to balance import of energy and raw materials International comparisons of national competitiveness are conducted by the World Economic Forum, in its Global Competitiveness Report, and the Institute for Management Development for, in its World Competitiveness Yearbook

  9. Conclusion Having studied all advantages and disadvantages of competitors we can make the following conclusion: “Salon “Zhakkard” yields strongly to its competitors. In order to raise the competitiveness “Salon “Zhakkard” should: • Open a new position for receptionist; • Reconsider the specialists salary; • Reduce expenses on available materials; • Apply and regulate professional cosmetic for home usage; • Reconsider and enlarge market and advertising policy of the business; • Practice additional discounts and bones for regular customers.
