  4. FYC Course Proposal Process • Early December (Dec. 9?) • Curriculum Committee to receive preliminary proposal indicating AOK, CAR, major/minor designations proposed. (FYC Preliminary Course Proposal Form) • Mid-April (April 14?) • FYE Advisory Board to receive update on course development plans. (FYC Update Form) • Late August • FYE Advisory Board to receive syllabus.

  5. Support and Resources • New FYCs • Release time (providing your department can arrange it): One course in January, Spring, or Fall 2006. • Summer development stipend(s) of up to $3000 per instructor. • Start-up funds—$1000 per instructor. • Co-curricular event funding—about $3000 per FYC. • Freshman advising stipend—$1000. • Repeat FYCs • Stipend equivalent to that for an Honors course • Freshman advising stipend—$1000.

Information we will need • Group questions • How should we handle co-curricular money? • How should we do the scheduling of students? • Individual FYC questions • Are there any stipulations as to which students should (or should not) be placed in your FYC? • Will your FYC be interleaved? • Do you wish to work with a particular writing instructor?
